Padel in Indonesia: The Fastest-Growing Market in Asia & Our VNK01 Collaboration

June 2026 · Indonesia · Collaboration

It has conquered Spain, swept through Europe, and is now storming the world's most unlikely markets. Padel's next frontier? Indonesia — a nation of 280 million people, a deep love of sport, and one of the fastest-growing padel scenes on the planet.

That's exactly why Skull Padel is proud to announce our partnership with Agena Sports, Indonesia's leading tennis and padel retailer — and the creation of a very special racket to mark the occasion.

Indonesia: Padel's Most Explosive Growth Story

The numbers are staggering. According to the FIP Research & Data Analysis Department, Indonesia now has 400,000 amateur padel players and in just the last six months alone, the number of courts has grown by 186%, bringing the total close to 1,000 across the country. The 2026 Playtomic Global Padel Report added that nearly 800 new courts were built in Indonesia in 2025 alone — concentrated in the urban centres of Jakarta, Bali, Surabaya, and Bandung.

That growth rate — nearly 400% in player numbers over three years — makes padel one of Indonesia's fastest-growing leisure industries. For context: the Indonesian Padel Association (PBPI) only officially joined the International Padel Federation (FIP) in 2025. The sport went from niche curiosity to national movement in the time it takes most markets to build their first 50 courts.

Where Is Padel Booming?

Jakarta leads the way, with court density highest in the capital's wealthier districts. Bali follows closely — driven by its international tourism base and the lifestyle positioning of padel as a premium social sport. Surabaya, Bandung, and Central Sulawesi are also seeing rapid expansion, with more affordable court rates making the sport accessible far beyond the elite.

The Playtomic 2026 report classifies Indonesia alongside Brazil, the USA, Australia, and India as a “Diamond in the Rough” — a market with relatively early infrastructure but enormous long-term potential. Indonesia has one additional advantage those other markets lack: price accessibility. Court rates average 39–67% lower than in mature markets like Singapore, Qatar, and the UAE, making mass adoption entirely feasible as the sport spreads beyond Jakarta.

International Recognition

The global padel community has taken notice. In 2025 Indonesia joined the CUPRA FIP Tour calendar for the first time. And this November, Jakarta will host the FIP Junior Asia Padel Cup 2026 — the continent's premier youth tournament for Under 14, Under 16, and Under 18 players. That a country with fewer than five years of organised padel history is hosting a continental championship says everything about the trajectory.

Introducing the VNK01 — The Indonesia Edition

To mark this collaboration, Skull Padel has created the VNK01: a signature racket designed in close partnership with Neils Khoe, one of Indonesia's top professional padel players. The VNK01 is a statement — both on and off the court.

The Design

The VNK01 comes in two colourways: a bold black face with Neils Khoe's signature sugar skull artwork, and a white edition that lets the intricate tattoo-inspired design breathe against a clean background. Both feature the iconic Skull Padel frame with red accent lines — and the Indonesian flag printed on the side frame, a proud nod to the country this racket was born from.

Neils Khoe's personal signature appears on the frame of both versions, making every VNK01 a genuine limited-edition collector's piece as much as a high-performance padel weapon.

“The VNK01 is more than a racket — it's a racket by Indonesia, for the world. Skull Padel's craftsmanship combined with Neils' playing philosophy makes this something we're genuinely proud of.” — Skull Padel

Why Indonesia, Why Now?

The question answers itself. A market growing at 400% in three years, a passionate new generation of players, a national federation now integrated into the world's premier tour, and a government-backed youth championship arriving in Jakarta this November — Indonesia is not a market for the future. It is a market for right now.

Agena Sports gives us the infrastructure: trusted stores in the right cities, a knowledgeable team, and an established relationship with Indonesia's most passionate padel community. Neils Khoe gives us the credibility: a genuine professional who knows the game and knows what players in his country need. And the VNK01 gives us the conversation starter.

A Racket with a Flag on It

The Indonesian flag on the frame of the VNK01 is not decoration. It's a declaration. Padel is growing here, and Skull Padel intends to grow with it — with the right partner, the right player, and the right product to match the ambition of a market that is just getting started.

Stay tuned. Indonesia is only the beginning.
