Reserve Cup Marbella 2026: Three Days of World-Class Padel at Puente Romano

Marbella delivered again. From June 18–20, the Puente Romano Beach Resort hosted the Reserve Cup Marbella 2026 — the second stop of the Reserve Cup Series after Miami — and this year's edition was the most ambitious yet. A packed crowd, a $700,000 prize pot, and a historic first: women's padel on the Reserve Cup stage for the very first time.

The Format: Strategy Meets Spectacle

What makes the Reserve Cup different from Premier Padel is the team format. Two squads — Team Reserve, captained by Alejandro Galán, and Team Sierra Blanca Estates, captained by Arturo Coello — faced off across three days with shifting pairings decided by coaches Juan Martín Díaz and Seba Nerone. No pair could be repeated across days, adding a tactical chess element that kept every day unpredictable.

Matches were played to two sets with a super tie-break, and crucially, the points value escalated each day: Day 1 carried the lowest points, Day 3 the highest. Nothing was decided until the very last match.

Day 1 — June 18: A Historic Debut

The opening day made history immediately. For the first time ever, women played on the Reserve Cup court — and they didn't disappoint. Sofía Araújo and Lara Arruabarrena (Team Sierra Blanca) beat Nuria Rodríguez and Alejandra Salazar (Team Reserve) 6–4, 6–2 in a commanding display that secured the first point of the tournament.

In the men's section, Galán and Yanguas faced Coello and Leal. Team Reserve took the first set in a tie-break. The atmosphere at Puente Romano was electric from the first point — and a surprise guest in the crowd made it even more special: Carlos Alcaraz was spotted watching courtside, alongside Patrick Rafter, Frank de Boer, and Serhiy Rebrov.

Day 2 — June 19: Double Points, Maximum Tension

With each point worth double on Day 2, the coaches had to be precise. Tamara Icardo and Nuria Rodríguez took to the women's court first, while in the men's draw, Coello and Javi Garrido squared off against Augsburger and Yanguas in one of the most-anticipated clashes of the weekend. The standings stayed tight going into the final day.

The social side was equally impressive. Carlos Alcaraz returned, this time joined by Sergio Busquets and singer Ana Mena — a reminder that the Reserve Cup has become as much a lifestyle event as a sporting one.

Day 3 — June 20: Sierra Blanca Takes It All

Everything came down to the final day. The women's match set the tone: Ale Alonso and Lara Arruabarrena came from behind to beat Salazar and Icardo 4–6, 6–4, 11–9 in a super tie-break of pure drama — a decisive point for Team Sierra Blanca.

The headline men's clash — Coello and Coki Nieto vs. Augsburger and Galán — delivered everything the crowd hoped for, and when the dust settled, Team Sierra Blanca Estates were crowned champions. The awards ceremony followed at around 10 PM, capping three days of world-class padel.

In a landmark announcement, Lisandro Vieytes, deputy mayor of Marbella, confirmed that the Reserve Cup will remain in the city for the next four years — cementing Marbella's status as one of the global capitals of padel.
